Dear Members
Recently a local farmer made a mistake and spread a large amount of plastic along with manure on one of his fields. This has led to an unsightly environmental pollution problem. The field in question is off Clay Lane, behind the pond we have just restored in Cootham. The only way to resolve the problem is to litter pick the field and I have volunteered our services to do it. We are therefore planning a project to do this on Thursday 10th September between 14:00 and 16:00.
The field in question is flat and level. If you can come and help, please do, as we need as many people out as possible. The easiest place to park is in the Crown Pub Car Park and they have welcomed us with open arms (ours full of plastic at the end we hope). From the car park, turn right towards Parham, turn left up Chapel Lane and walk to the end of the lane onto the footpath. If you have a litter picker, please bring it.
As usual tea and cake provided.
Mick Denness.
(Please meet us at the Crown Inn car park if you are not sure where the field is).
