WHAT HAVE WE DONE ?
LISTED BELOW IS A LIST OF SOME OF THE LARGER PROJECTS THAT WE HAVE UNDERTAKEN - CLICK ON ANY ONE OF THEM TO SEE MORE.
ALL BUT THE SCHOOL ARE ONGOING PROJECTS AND FURTHER PROGRESS WILL BE NOTED AS WE GO ON.
When the main work at the Pond was completed our next major project was at
“FOXMEAD” Old Peoples Home.
Our second project was the complete renewal of the main pond at St. Joseph’s
Convent.
This pond had been neglected since the late 1920’s. With this work we were
helped by the BTCV. It was very hard work but, when finished, very satisfying.
The renewed pond provided wonderful environmental studies opportunity for the
pupils.
These have been our major successes but there have been many other activities
undertaken which have benefited the Village.
One of these has been the replanting of the beds outside Somerfields following
the rebuilding there. This has been slightly soured due to the theft of quite a
few of the plants. This is a case of the activities of a few mean minded people
depriving the majority of the pleasure of a nice Village.
We have, at an estimate, planted over the years well over 5000 daffodil bulbs
and the result can be seen every Spring.
Recently we started in actively assisting in planting up all the flowers in the
Village as part of the "BRITAIN IN BLOOM " campaign
